In 2021 I embarked on a series of paintings focusing on surfers in North Cornwall.
I am fascinated by the movement of their bodies and how they are in tune with their boards.
As they balance at strategic points on their surfboards, you can feel the forces of nature at work: gravity, buoyancy and torque are all playing their parts.
The energy of the waves seem to be transmitted through their bodies, giving them the ultimate 'at one with nature' equilibrium.
